Indigenous knowledge and social work education in Nigeria: made in Nigeria or made in the West?

Social work education in Nigeria is largely dominated by Eurocentric knowledge, theories and beliefs. This has led to a one-sided narrative where ideologies are advanced indigenous knowledge often sidelined academic curricula. non-inclusive teaching learning methodology acts as continuous (re)colonization process from Europe imported planted the African academy. To contribute discussion for this study researched need social using 18 semi-structured interviews. Participants were made up of 4 educators, 10 students practitioners. Major findings affirmed that practice was anchored Western rather than knowledge. It evident research be more transparent curriculum Nigeria. Overall, blended present ensure best both off avoid ‘danger single story’.
